chinese new year is just around the corner.and when u work in a company, where the majorities are the Chinese, there's bound to be loads & loads of food in the office. and because i am the only Malay/Islam soul in the office, i was naturally given and can share the goodies with them. i noe this colleagues of mine, means no harm. but, i am a person that is extremely cautious abt food. not bcoz i wan to stay skinny, but i realli wan to make sure that the food that goes into my stomach is Halal. so i find it difficult to say or to reject the. normally i jus take and then silently throw it elsewhere. of coz they dun give me pork, but its those cakes, biscuits, or other peculiar food that worries me. there was once i rejected outright but politely when my senior ordered some japanese foods and she said that i'am the holy and pious type. of coz i dun mind when she said taht of me. but it hurts to noe that she doenst undastand. and its worse when the old uncles (malay) who did eat that japanese food. i may not be that holy or pious, u may not see me praying at times, u may see me putting on nail polish or wearing skimpy (but no so skimpy) outfits, but i have always been very particular wif food. i noe some ppl wud say, wats the difference wif me eating halal food when i've done all the abovementioned, but, atleast it makes feel better that i dun hv any 'bad' food inside me. i tink i have done enuff sins that i noe and some that i dun noe of, i dun tink i need anymore to add to my already mounting sins. haha. i dun get it why ppl can go eat at pastamania or botak jones without feeling any guilt. i often see this ppl and they look like they have the best lifes that i cud only envy from afar. no, i dun envy them bcoz they eat non halal food, what i envy is, they drink, they dress skimpily and their life is still the best. with a good bf/gf, great friends, a wonderful career. but take a look at me. what do i have?
